Views of world environment day celebration at NCSC
National Cement S.C celebrated 2014 WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY with high initiative and concern by organizing a motorcade to the main road of the city accompanied by traffic police officers and special police forces on June 5, 2014. As part of the celebration, the participants had a visit on the nursery site and witness the planting of memorial tree. Speeches of distinguished guests were also heard during the momentous occasion.
Mr. Danilo Trugillo, General Manager of NCSC, gave the welcoming speech for the participants. In his speech, he appreciated all invited guests for their participation on such wonderful occasion to act together for our planet earth.
Mr. Danilo stressed on the five pillars of NCSC. Among these pillars is the Environment, Health and Safety. It is because of this that the company always give special attention for the environment and wants to act together with other stakeholders on the prevailing environmental agendas and problem. He remembered the partakers about the commitment of the company so far committed on environment. Finally, the GM renewed the company’s commitment on environmental agendas.
After the General Manager’s speech, Ato Tajudin Abdulahi, Head of EPA gave speech on the occasion and his impression on NCSC’s commitment for environmental protection. He appreciated the initiation of the company as portrayed in the day’s celebration. Ato Tajudin, conclusively expressed his confidence that NCSC will continue with the same tempo to protect and develop the environment.
At the end of the occasion, Mr. Danilo, Ato Tajudine, and Commissioner Getachew planted several memorial trees in the nursery site along with the invited guests from Dire Dawa Administrtion, NCSC Executive Committee members, Department and Division Managers. Delegated employees from each departments of the company also witnessed the noteworthy event.
On the same night of the occasion, NCSC has organized a sumptuous dinner party for the participants of the program and the World Environment Day celebration program winded up successfully.
